Nowhabit Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 13, 2026
Altude ("Altude," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Nowhabit app and Nowhabit's official product pages. We respect that your habit records belong to you and process only the minimum information needed to provide the service.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Nowhabit iOS app and the Nowhabit product and support pages operated by Altude. Apple, iCloud, the App Store, and websites reached through external links are governed by their respective privacy policies.
2. Information processed by the app
Nowhabit does not require an account or sign-in. The app does not transmit your personal information or habit records to a server operated by Altude.
- Habit records: Habit names, schedules, check history, sub-items, and notes are used to provide habit-tracking features. They are stored on your device and, when iCloud sync is enabled, in your private iCloud database. Altude cannot access them.
- Settings and reminders: App settings and reminder settings are stored on your device. Synced habit settings may also be stored in your iCloud. Altude cannot access them.
- Premium entitlement: Apple StoreKit processes purchases and restores. The app keeps a local cache of your current entitlement, but Altude does not receive your payment-card details.
The app contains no advertising, behavioral analytics, user tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device; no push token is sent to an Altude server.
3. Retention
- On-device data: Kept until you delete the relevant record in the app or remove the app from your device.
- iCloud data: When iCloud sync is enabled, kept in your iCloud account until you delete it. Removing the app from one device does not necessarily delete existing iCloud data.
- Premium entitlement: Apple retains purchase information under its policies and legal obligations. The app's local cache may be removed when you delete the app.
- Support emails: If you contact us, we may keep your email address, message, and attachments for as long as reasonably needed to answer you and handle any dispute, or for a longer period when required by law.
4. iCloud and Apple
iCloud sync is provided and processed by Apple through CloudKit. Synced app data is stored in your private iCloud database and counts against your iCloud storage. Altude cannot view or download your habit records from that private database.
Information processed by Apple for iCloud and App Store purchases is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and applicable Apple terms.
5. Third-party disclosure, sale, and tracking
Altude does not sell your habit records or personal information and does not disclose them for third-party advertising or marketing. Apple's iCloud and App Store features, and the website hosting described below, are platform processing needed to provide the service; they are not a disclosure of your habit records for another party's independent advertising purposes.
Except when required by a valid legal request, Altude does not disclose support information it holds to third parties. Because Altude cannot access records on your device or in your private iCloud database, we cannot disclose those records.
6. Technical information on the official website
The official website is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare, Inc. When you open the site, Cloudflare's global infrastructure may automatically process standard access-log information—such as your IP address, approximate location, browser and device information, requested URL, access time, and errors—to deliver and secure the site and diagnose failures.
Altude does not currently place its own advertising trackers or visitor behavior analytics on the official website. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy for details about Cloudflare's processing and retention. We will update this policy if our hosting or analytics practices change.
7. Deletion and withdrawing from iCloud sync
Delete individual habits and records
In the app's Habits list, swipe left on a habit and choose Delete. This deletes the habit and its related records. When iCloud sync is enabled, the deletion is also synced to iCloud and may take time to reach your other devices.
Stop iCloud sync
In Nowhabit, turn off Settings > iCloud Sync, fully quit the app, and open it again. The app stops connecting to iCloud from the next launch and keeps records only on that device. Turning off sync does not automatically delete data already stored on your device or in iCloud.
Delete on-device data
Delete individual habits in the app or remove Nowhabit from your device. If data remains in iCloud and you later enable sync again, it may download to the device.
Delete iCloud data
On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Apple Account > iCloud > Manage Storage, find Nowhabit, and choose Delete Data. Menu labels may vary by iOS version. If needed, turn off sync and close the app before deleting the data. Altude cannot access your private iCloud database and therefore cannot delete this data for you.
Nowhabit has no separate Altude account, so there is no app account to delete.
8. Security
Nowhabit uses a local-first design and does not store habit records on an Altude server. Security also depends on your device passcode, Apple Account security, and Apple's safeguards. We recommend using a device lock and two-factor authentication for your Apple Account.
9. Children's privacy
Nowhabit does not verify age and does not knowingly collect children's personal information. The app has no account, advertising, or tracking. A parent or guardian can manage the child's device and iCloud settings.
10. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy when the app, our processing, or applicable law changes. We will announce material changes on the website or in the app and update the effective date above.
